National Minimum Wage to Increase in 2021

The Low Pay Commission recommends  an increase in the National Minimum Wage. The increase in the National Minimum Wage  takes effect from 1st January .

UPDATE 2021

 

Since 1 January 2021, the national minimum wage is €10.20, see rates below.

Since 4 March 2019 trainee rates are abolished.

 

From 1 February 2020, the national minimum wage will increase to €10.10.

Since 1 January 2018, under SI 440/2017, the national minimum wage for an experienced adult employee is €9.55 per hour. This replaces the below order.

Since 1 January 2017, under SI 516/2016, the national minimum wage for an experienced adult employee is €9.25 per hour.

 

Good news for employees in the Security Industry

There are proposals to introduce a new Employment Regulation Order.

The current rate is €10.75. The new rate is set to increase the hourly payment to €11.05 from the 1st April 2017, €11.35 on the 1st April 2018 and to €11.65 on the 1st  April 2019.
